Metcash Trading in Australia revamped their “Sustainability” journey when they employed a Sustainability Manager, Louise Rhodes in mid 2008. Servicing over 180,000 retail food and grocery customers mainly under the IGA banner. They measure + report key energy and carbon metrics, developed a suite of policy documents both internally and for their retailers. Activated an Energy Performance Contract process to highlight every energy and water saving option possible at their largest NINE energy using warehouse sites with a rollout plan to come.
